Upon arrival the owner recognized us, greeted us, and made sure we had excellent service and the best seat in the house. “ We are local to the area and love coming to Buttermilk Kitchen for breakfast. I recommend the Carrot Cake Latte. My son said the Biscuits and Gravy were delicious. My fiance enjoyed the Corned Beef Hash with homemade biscuits in their homemade blueberry basil jam. I went with the Buttermilk chicken breast over pimento cheese grits. The grits were fabulous! Nice cozy diner with water views. The area is picturesque to walk off your meal after and enjoy the harbor. There are plenty of gift shops and specialty shops within walking distance. Highly recommend! ”
“ Loved the vibe of this place. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We ordered a blueberry basil lemonade , the Clam Chowder and pimento cheese grits, and the Chicken biscuit with grits and potatoes. The lemonade was great and very refreshing. The wife’s Clam Chowder was very good. I even liked it and I don’t normally eat chowders. The Chicken Biscuit - Very good flavor, but the southern boy in me wanted to pick it up with my hands and eat like we do in the south. I finally realized that I think it’s meant to be eaten with a fork and knife which is how I finished eating it. Both of our grits were cooked nicely, good flavor and not dried out. The potatoes were also good no complaints. The biscuits themself were great they reminded me of my mommas biscuits she makes at home in Tennessee. I won’t remove a star for this, but they forgot the house pickles with my chicken biscuit. I just love pickles and didn’t realize they were missing until I was basically finished. Small complaint. Would recommend this spot for sure. ”

The staff are so friendly and can tell that they genuinely love working there, which makes a huge difference in the over all experience. Great views of the harbor, adorably decorated. We enjoy our visit every time.... 10 out 10 would be my vote!. We are pleased every time with all the delicious options.
